My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I was pleasantly surprised by this book, a little in to it I was pretty sure this was just going to be a "3 out of 5 books" read but the more I read the more hooked I got. Jennings has written a raw, bare-bones look at what one girl's death can do to so many, especially those closet to her. Kate, Anna and Lizzie's mom, is drowning with the pain and grief of losing her child, but so focused on what she has lost she loses sight of all that she still has. Kate's grief is god awful, I actually found myself teary eyed. Jennings just did an absolutely wonderful job with this, her first novel! You might want to keep some tissues handy.
