Hollow City (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children, #2)Hollow City by Ransom Riggs
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Genre: YA Fantasy

I was worried when I first picked up this book that it wouldn't be as good as the first book in the series, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, so I left it to sit on my bookshelf to collect dust so as not to ruin the peculiar world that Ransom Riggs' words formed in my mind. I received Library of Souls (book #3) for Christmas so I thought I best get to reading them before the movie comes out this year and really ruins the peculiar world in my mind. Well let's just say I truly regret not starting this book sooner. I have wondered and wondered what became of Miss Peregrine's children, particularly Jacob and Emma! And of course starting this book sooner would have alleviated that wonder that we all feel with a book series that one question of, "What is going to happen next?"! Truly as imaginative as the first, Hollow City did not disappoint! Running for their lives all the peculiar children find danger and adventure around every corner and I felt my heart seize up every time they encountered a hollowgast, a truly horrifying monster with a black tongue, yuck, and of course those murderous and sadistic wights looking to eat the souls of peculiars everywhere. There were some parts of the story that just were not for me and that is why I gave it a four instead of a five, but if you loved book #1 in the series then you just have got to read Hollow City!

Thanks for stopping in,
Amy
