Review: Murder at the Brightwell (Amory Ames Mystery #1) by Ashley Weaver

Murder at the Brightwell (Amory Ames Mystery, #1)Murder at the Brightwell by Ashley Weaver
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A wonderful cozy mystery reminiscent of those that came from Dame Agatha Christie herself! Amory Ames is loaded so she has plenty of time to go off on a seaside holiday in aid of a friend and previous fiance, Gil, all the while leaving her handsome husband, Milo, home. Murder does have a tendency to occur whilst one is on holiday and since she has tenacity and time on her hands Amory thinks why not just see what I can find out! There is jealousy everywhere in this book because even though Amory thought Gil remained in the country he didn't, gosh it is so hard to keep your charmingly handsome husband at home now a days. Lucky for Amory though that he came because they team up to help Gil who has found himself to be the number one suspect for murder. Milo and Amory's marriage is anything less than ideal, but this adventure finds themselves working together and spending much needed time with each other. Obviously Milo dotes on Amory, but she just doesn't see it. And in true Christie fashion the real murderer is the one that was the least likely of all the characters to have had done it. Well done Ashley Weaver you are now up there as one of my favorite cozy mysteries of all time!

Thanks for being here,
Amy
