About Me & My Blog

I will sit anywhere to read a book even the kitchen counter!
I'm Amy, A Bookish Girl, and I am so happy that you are here to hang out for a bit to read one of my reviews or another type of bookish post!

I'm a 34 year old stay-at-home mom.
Me and my husband Jeremy have been married for almost 12 years now and we have three beautiful daughters together.

Olivia, aka Bean, is our 12 year old, she is artistic and a very empathetic soul.

Emma, aka the turtle, is our 9 year old, she is very techie and her and Bean are complete opposites!  Emma has Apraxia of Speech, which is a severe speech disorder and receives many special services through her IEP and her elementary school.

And last but certainly not least is Addie Bear, who is 11 months old, she is the happiest baby I've ever encountered and she brings unbelievable amounts of joy into all of our lives.
We also have two furbabies, Rocky is a black lab and Klyde is a St.Bernard/English Mastiff mix.

Jeremy is a full-time student and attends Penn State and is getting his bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. He will graduate this May if his academic plans stay on its current track. Jeremy served his country proudly in the Marine Corp for 8 years so we did get to live in lots of different places, but we currently live in Pennsylvania close to both of our families.

I Love to Read!
Being a SAHM allows me time to do all the things I love and I filled most of my time with reading when Turtle went off to elementary school. In 2014 I read almost 150 books! However, when I was pregnant with Addie I really struggled with focus and had the dreaded pregnancy fog bad so I had really laid off reading and posting reviews there for awhile. I started back up reading not long after having Addie, but of course being a parent to an infant again after so many years of being able to sleep through the night was a difficult transition for me so I am slowly but surely picking up books and blogging about them again.

I started blogging in 2012 under the name Amy The Crafty Book Nerd here on blogger. I then flip flopped around with different blogging platforms (wordpress.org, wordpress.com, typepad, weebly) you name it I probably tried it and so most of my posts were formatted all wonky so instead of trying to spend obscene amounts of time re-formatting all of them, I have only re-formatted the reviews for this year (and I'm still actually working on that). If you go to the pages marked 2015 Book Review Archives you will find all my reviews formatted in the simplest way possible thanks to some help from Goodreads and the same goes to those reviews found under the 2014 Book Review Archives Page. In 2013 and 2012 I didn't blog a lot so those pages are archived a little differently with links to my reviews of those books on Goodreads for you to read there.

I am hoping you will visit me here often and introduce yourself I am always open to meeting new people and this will also give you an opportunity to get to know me better as well!
